The Best Mobile Game Celebrity Dopplegangers

Have you ever noticed any similarities between your favorite game characters and certain celebrities? Of course you have!

Sometimes the resemblance is so spot that you think the character you’re playing is indeed based on a well-known public figure. But then again, sometimes you can’t quite place whom that character looks like or it could be a mash-up of a few celebrities. Well, we’re here to help!
We thought it would be fun to highlight a few character doppelgangers from some of our favorite mobile games. A couple of these are too close to call, so we’ve included alternate options. We would love to hear what you think about these character resemblances, and even suggest some others we haven’t thought of. Use the comments section below to let us know what you think.

We’ll start with some obvious ones first…..

Clash of Clans

The hero image character for SuperCell’s smash hit Clash of Clans has a striking resemblance to…….the one and only Hulk Hogan. Now all you little Hulkamaniacs can live vicariously through epic combat strategy game.

Clash-of-Clans

Also from Clash of Clans comes another fairly spot on doppleganger. Seeing the picture below, it is pretty obvious, but you could easily swap Hog Rider for Mr T. Ironically both Hulk and Mr. T appeared in the same movie, Rocky 3, so should obviously head home and watch Rocky 3 and play some Clash of Clans! Surprised there’s no Adrian in Clash of Clans?

Hog-Rider

Beat the Boss

My personal favorite doppleganger on this list is from Game Hive’s ultimate stress reliever, Beat the Boss. While I think Tom Selleck or a young mustachioed Geraldo Rivera could have pulled off a good runner up for this one, the more obvious connection is with 1988 NFL Hall of Famer, Mike Ditka. Just be careful, as he may fight back!

Beat-the-Boss

Running Fred

A popular endless runner that we play a lot here at Tapjoy is Running Fred…it’s just that Fred has an uncanny resemblance to well known British actor from the popular movies such as Trainspotting, The Rundown and Pearl Harbor. He may not be a household name yet, but there is an incredible likeness between the tireless Fred and Ewan Bremner. Being a member of the redheaded league myself, I’m personally just happy Gingers are making strides in mobile gaming.

Running-Fred

Jet Pack Joyride

One of the best names in mobile gaming, Barry Steakfries, comes from the ever popular Jet Pack Joyride from HalfBrick Studios. He’s on a one-way mission, and never looks back, much like his celebrity doppleganger, Ben Affleck. Not the Argo Ben Affleck, or the Jennifer Lopez Ben Affleck but the Hollywoodland Ben Affleck.

Jetpack-Joyride

Subway Surfer

Jake from Subway Surfer is on an eternal mission to escape from the grumpy inspector and his dog. I just can’t stop imagining the one riding the rails is none-other than Justin Beiber. Given his recent troubles, it’s easy to see why he’s so adept at running.

Subway-Surfer

Modern War:

As you’re trying to build your global military empire in GREE’s Modern War, just try to keep one of the world’s most popular action movie stars out of your head. From big action flicks including The Transporter and Crank, we see an uncanny resemblance to Jason Statham. Makes sense, the man knows his guns.

Crime-City

Band Stars

HalfBrick Studios’ Band Stars enables you to form a band and compete challenges as you make your way to the top of the charts. The hero image reminds me of the hilariously awesome Shock G from one of my favorite bands, Digital Underground. Humpty Dance anyone?

Band-Stars

Contract Killer

We’re going to close this list with one of our favorite games, Contract Killer from Glu Mobile. As you storm through Central City on secret missions, just pretend your everyone’s favorite Swedish martial artists, action star and genius (yes, genius) Dolph Lundgren.

Contract-Killer-2

So there you have it, some of our favorite mobile game dopplegangers. We’re sure you can come up with dozens more, so please do let us know who we missed and what you think in the comments section below!
