Your device’s Advertising Identifier (Ad ID) is not the same as your IP Address or your device’s serial number. The Ad ID is a unique, user-resettable identifier specifically for advertising use, somewhat analogous to an advertising cookie (except that it is part of your device from the beginning). It enables advertisers to understand that a particular device (or its user) has responded to their ad by taking an action (like a click or purchase or install), and allows the user to clear the device’s history by re-setting it.
We use your Ad ID to identify your device and the actions associated with that device (like clicks, purchases, or other events) so we can respond to your support request.
To find your device’s Ad ID see below:
– Android devices – To find your Android Ad ID (called Android Advertising ID), open the Google Settings app on your Android device and click on “Ads.” Your Android Advertising Identifier will be listed at the bottom of the screen.
– iOS devices (iPhones, iPads) – To find the iOS version of Ad ID (called IDFA – ID For Advertising), the process is more complicated. iOS does not directly display the IDFA to users, so you must use a third-party app or tool to find it.
